Scott and Marlene have been married for 19 years and live in Seal Beach with their three children, ages 9, 11, and 13. All three children attend public schools in the Los Alamitos Unified School District. In January, 2015 Marlene and all three children were severely infested with lice at the same time. Scott and Marlene spent almost three weeks and many frustrating hours trying to solve their head lice infestation with over-the-counter shampoos that simply did not work. The kids missed school and both Scott and Marlene had to miss work for many days.
As a medical professional, Marlene was determined to find a clinically proven, evidence based medical approach to treating lice that would end their head lice infestation. This led her to Larada Sciences in Salt Lake City and the AirAlle medical device to successfully treat her family’s head lice infestation. The closest Lice Clinics of America Clinic to them at the time was 90 miles away. Scott and Marlene did not want other families to go through the nightmare she went through and decided to bring this technology and service to their community.
Lice Clinics of America Los Alamitos opened in August 2015. Lice Clinics of America South Bay officially opened up in Torrance in December, 2016 to serve the South Bay Community. The two clinics have successfully treated over 5,000 families, representing over 500 different schools and 125 different cities. Our mission is to turn what can be a very stressful event into a pleasant family experience that is actually enjoyable. We support the communities we serve through lice education, lice head screening, lice treatment, community involvement, and donations of our services back to the community.
We exist to make a difference in the world. We allow children, parents, and families in our community to have their lice infestation solved right away and to sleep well at night.
